I cannot wait to see this show!! I love Cirque De Soliel, and I love Elvis!!!!! Las Vegas, here I come! Opens December 18!

Viva ELVIS, a harmonious fusion of dance, acrobatics and live music, is a tribute to the life and music of Elvis Presley. Nostalgia, modernity and raw emotion provide the backdrop for his immortal voice and the exhilaration and beauty of his music.

Created in the image of The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll – powerful, sexy, whimsical, truly unique and larger than life – the show highlights an American icon who transformed popular music and whose image embodies the freedom, excitement and turbulence of his era.

Significant moments in his life – intimate, playful and grandiose – blend with the timeless songs that remain as relevant today as when they first hit the top of the charts. Viva ELVIS focuses on the essential humanity of the one superstar whose name will forever be linked with the history of Las Vegas and the entire world of entertainment: Elvis Presley.

Sounds like this will be one heck of a first class production that will be worth the ticket price!! Who is playing the part of Elvis?

As far as I know they arent using an ETA, just a cast member of the Cirque.

Yea, Leo Day's "was" going be the ETA. But they let him go I think a little over a week ago. They decided to take a different direction. Leo posted it on his Facebook. I feel so bad for Leo he deserved this so much.

Wow Tim that really sucks and I hate that for Leo.

Thank you both for the info!!

Leo's Facebook said today that he has a nice new job, tho ! Happy for him. I think it was a Legends Tour.

Yes, Leo is touring with Legends, so as they say...when one door closes, another opens up!

Hi Tarie ! I have my tickets for late Feb. ! So excited !

Yes, I look forward to seeing this, though not as much as when Leo was to be in the leading role. Viva Elvis will have the Colonel and no Elvis (WT...?) The opening was to be in January, in connection with Elvis' 75th birthday. Cirque decided to "take a different direction" in mid-December, about two weeks before opening preview shows. A member of an online Las Vegas forum group where I'm a member posted his impressions of the preview show. He's seen it twice. From what he's said, it sounds like there's a lot of revamping Cirque needs to do between now and their actual show opening in (now) mid-February. I may delay seeing this on my spring trip and wait until fall when more of the kinks will hopefully be worked out of it. You can try to see Greg's posting here, inlcluding his suggestion for a desription of best seating in the theater): http://www.everythinglv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10101 .

Hi !
I just got back from Vegas and seeing Viva Elvis ..enjoyed it, but not as much as I expected...more Cirque & less Elvis than I would like....really enjoyed Terry Fator's show....and I am an Elvis fan. LOL Viva just didn't meet expectations, sorry ! I come away from an ETA show more thrilled & enthusiastic than I was there...and I hate to say it, because I was sooooo excited about it for so long !
