i remember it like yesterday the day that you died i laid in my bed and me and the whole world cried i was only 6 people wondered how i new the man that would be king and the man the whole world knew i grew up on you music and gave my first born your name i have seen you in dreams our last name was the same you invoke in me a power that there can be peace and every time i hear you sing i feel it inside of me .. so close your eyes and rest my love your work here is done you shared yourself with the world and for that we have won so

Of the righteousness of men
Once foresaken and yet found.
A meaning for those who can
Though few will hear the sound.

By the flowing sands of time
The written word in bold,

Of a poet's thought in rhyme
For all now to behold.

A conveyance to mankind
To heed for, and to hold
To search for, and to find
A poet's last prayer foretold.

"The King Is Gone" by Ronnie McDowell is a beautiful Tribute to Elvis,sung by Ronnie straight from the heart. It was the first Tribute Song to Elvis.
25 years later I composed and recorded "I Remember His First Love Song."(Ascap & Socan 2002)-Special Edition Single-25th Anniversary Tribute To The King.
