Elvis has always been in my life but at different times I had to keep him in the background. He has always been in my heart though. People used to make fun of my Elvis Fetish but I never let it bother me. They just didn't understand my deep unabashed respect for him as a person. Yes, he was a talented singer and performer but more than that he was an honest sweet person. He respected people, he dared to rock, he dared to be different. He risked everything to share his talent with the world. He stood up against the worst traits in human beings. Namely Prejudice, Racism and most of all his love of God. He was true to himself and although the stories circulate about his life. I believe deep down Elvis gave his all and was true to himself. When I lost my beloved husband and felt lost it was my love of Elvis and my Elvis family that gave me meaning in life again. I love all of my Elvis Family for they are the only ones that understand my undying love for Elvis Presley. He has brought me through the toughest times of my life and I feel that if I emulate his goodness I too will be able to live my life being true to myself and honouring God so I can rejoin Elvis someday and earn my Everlasting life able to hear him sing again.

Awww My sweet friend Mitchell . Thank you for your honest comments. I feel the same way about our beloved Elvis and wish that more singing sensations and stars would emulate his example. He truly stayed true to himself and allowed everyone to know the real person. Great comments and worth much more than 2 cents.
God Bless

Elvis knew that God had called him to be a part of His work and knowing this always kept E. humble. God has never given another "performer" the debths of the gifts He gave E. and this is why there has never been another. There have been and are big entertainers but none on the level of Elvis, including Michael Jackson. Elvis beautiful humility and love for people and God is what I love most about him. Like all of us, Elvis was not perfect and had his times of screwing things up but he was always real. What you saw was what you got. Elvis most regrettable mistake was loosing his family over his need to be with friends and he was never able to overcome this. For some reason, E. had a great need to hang out with buddies 24/7 and this was very destructive to his family life. Many times we follow our plans instead of God's and the results can be very negative. Elvis is loved today by millions because he had a heart of gold.
Great topic Marian and I hope you are doing very well!!

God bless

Thanks for your awesome insight Kenny. I totally agree and that is why I loved him so much and treasure all the memories of him. I think that the time he spent with the friends was something he felt he needed to do also. I think he felt that they depended on him so much for their livelihood so he kept performing so that they would have the money to support their families. I feel he pushed himself because he felt that need to provide for those he loved and the only way to do it was to keep making money by performing. I love how he talked and shared. I love how he laughed so easily and most of all how he loved God. I hope you are doing well too my sweet friend Kenny. Some day our paths will cross my dear friend and we will share a big Elvis hug and rejoice in our shared love for Elvis. Until then stay in touch and thanks again for your great comment.
Hugs Marian and God Bless you and your family
