I've been to Vegas twice...once in 2007 and again in 2008. I liked just knowing the fact that Elvis was there once...and I enjoyed seeing the Hilton and going inside. I know they are now taking the Hilton down..or changing it....which I think is a shame. I know we still have Graceland, but they're taking down a piece of Elvis/music history. He broke his own records when he performed there!
Yes, I want to go to Graceland soooooo much, but it's difficult because I have a two-and-a-half year old. Not sure how she'd handle the plane ride let alone standing in lines etc once we get there. She tends to only want ME when she's cranky or upset, so I couldn't even hand her over to my husband. LOL I'll see what I can do and am hopeful that things will work out so I can get there. It's been my dream to visit forever!
It's pretty cool that you're performing on the same stage as The King. :) I'd love to be able to touch/own...whatever just ONE thing that Elvis Presley once touched.
Anyway...I should get back to work. Just taking a quick break and was pleased to see that you dropped me a line. Hope you write again soon! ~Karen
Mine birthday was December 11th. That day itself was OK...didn't do anything special. That following morning, though I woke up sick and was flat on my back for three days. Had a great Christmas with family, however. I'm glad to hear that you did as well.
No, I never saw Elvis in concert either. I was 6 years old when he died and at that time was a fan of Bobby Vinton's. LOL I "discovered" Elvis when I was in high school and have loved him now for over 20 years. I've never been to Graceland either, but I'm hoping that as possibly as soon as this summer I'll be able to finally visit. I'll probably cry at Elvis' gravesite. I still wish so much that he was still alive performing for us. We're lucky to have entertainers like yourself who keep his music and memory alive. :)
So, do you ever think you'd ever come to Boston to perform? :):) If you do, I want front row seats and a scarf. :) Hope you write again soon. -Karen

Hi Bret!
When was your birthday? Mine is in December as well. :) Hope you had a great one! No, I don't have any major plans for New Year's Eve; I'll just be spending it with my family. :) I hope the coming new year is your best and brightest. Thank you for finding the time to write to me. Write again when you have a chance. Have you ever seen Elvis live in concert? Ever been to Graceland? :)
Take good care,
Karen

Hey Bret:
Thanks for writing to me!! I look forward to getting to know you better. :) I hope you have a healthy and happy holiday season as well.
You are right aabout there being enough to go around. I have a good friend, 18 miles east of me, in Starkville, the location of Mississippi State University, who is in the photography business, and he does elvis gospel songs and we had him at our church one sunday Night, and we had a packed house. since he was a small kid.
I had never seen Elvis in concert, but, one time a good many years ago, I went to Memphis to the National Quartet convention, and Elvis was there, and he came out on the stage, and spoke. At the time he was involved in makng a movie or recordings and could not sing, according to the contract he was under, but, I did see him.
Yes, since I have been connected with him, on facebook, I have chatted with him a few times. i bet he is good, too.
I have 2 good friends also on facebook, who are good at impersonating Elvis, and one is Hal Hall, from coffeville, Mississippi and he is a methodist preacher, and the other is Tim Johnson, who was a state senator and is running for higher office now.
I enjoy the Elvis programs I have been to, and a lot of them do spend a lot for the suits, and I know they need them. They all have good looking suits.
Maben is a little over 100 miles south of memphis. Maben is in Oktibbeha county, and a small place 18 miles west of Starkville and Mississippi State University.
Are you familiar with Oliver steinhoff, from Germany? He is an Elvis impersonator and i just got connected with him on facebook, and he is on Tributes radio, too.
