Tribute Artist
About Me:
A musician, singer/songwriter, and Elvis Tribute Artist. At the age of seventeen, Rick began performing locally in Chicago and in nightclubs. Upon joining The Ambassadors, The Rick Saucedo Show began in 1972. Shortly thereafter, Rick landed the role of Elvis Presley in the 1978 Broadway Musical: "Elvis - The Legend Lives". Rick recreated all of the magic and excitement of Elvis' career for six nights a week for five months with DJ Fontana backing him on drums and The (original) Jordanaires on backup. Following the success of the show, Rick took it to the Stardust in Las Vegas in 1979. Ever since, Rick has been accredited as one of the original tribute artists to Elvis Presley, coming from the increasingly rare and appreciated generation of ETAs who were performing at the same time as Elvis. Back in the day, Rick would draw crowds of celebrities and thousands of fans in the short time that followed the death of Elvis. Rick has remained close with DJ and The Jordanaires over the years, using them on his original recording sessions. In addition, Rick has peformed with many other historical characters of Elvis Presley's musical entourage, including JD Sumner and the Stamps, The Sweet Inspirations, Charlie Hodge, and Scotty Moore. He has now been performing for nearly 40 years, longer than Elvis himself. It was his full-time work and dedication long before people made habits out of impersonating Elvis. His schedule has him performing over one-hundred shows a year, mostly in-and-around Chicago. The official site is www.ricksaucedo.com. Video available at www.youtube.com/thericksaucedoshow.
