About Me:
A Biography:
Rick Saucedo: A musician, singer/songwriter, and Elvis Tribute Artist. At the age of seventeen, Rick began performing locally in Chicago and in nightclubs. Upon joining The Ambassadors, The Rick Saucedo Show began in 1972. Shortly thereafter, Rick landed the role of Elvis Presley in the 1978 Broadway Musical: "Elvis - The Legend Lives". Rick recreated all of the magic and excitement of Elvis' career for six nights a week for five months with DJ Fontana backing him on drums and The (original) Jordanaires on backup. Following the success of the show, Rick took it to the Stardust in Las Vegas in 1979. Ever since, Rick has been accredited as one of the original tribute artists to Elvis Presley, coming from the increasingly rare and appreciated generation of ETAs who were performing at the same time as Elvis. Back in the day, Rick would draw crowds of celebrities and thousands of fans in the short time that followed the death of Elvis. Rick has remained close with DJ and The Jordanaires over the years, using them on his original recording sessions. In addition, Rick has peformed with many other historical characters of Elvis Presley's musical entourage, including JD Sumner and the Stamps, The Sweet Inspirations, and Scotty Moore. He has now been performing for over 3 decades, longer than Elvis himself performed. It was his full-time work and dedication long before people made habits out of impersonating Elvis. His schedule has him performing over one-hundred shows a year, mostly in-and-around Chicago. It's not often that one finds an Elvis fan in Chicago who has not seen or heard of Rick Saucedo. Here in the 2000's, nearly every performance features at least one fan who has not seen Rick perform in 20 or maybe 30 years and every time they say Rick is better now than ever before. "He has gotten better with age" is the most common phrase heard from long-time fans. When not performing, Rick likes to relax during his downtime; he continues songwriting and spends time in the recording studio. Rick has written dozens of original songs, ranging from Psychedelic, to Country, to Rock, to Gospel, and so on. The official site is www.ricksaucedo.com. Rick, I look forward to seeing you very soon. I am from the early years. In fact I was chosen in 76-77 to have you sing to me for my birthday through the fan club that was in Hammond and one of the ladies was Kathy. It took place at The Sabre Room. It's a night I won't forget. I was one of them that went Bridgeview, Field's Supper Club, Condesa Del Mar etc. You just keep getting better and now I am going to bring my husband to a show. I feel very great full to have met you and can still come and see the shows. Now I am an Elvis fan first but I also enjoy your songs very much. I don't want you to think I come just because of Elvis. You are a great entertainer in your own right. Thanks Rick!
